Date Night?
So last night Chris emails me and asked me if I wanted to get movies and dinner and have a stay in "date night." I was thrilled and responded with YES!! Then said if you let me pick the movie you can pick what we eat. First he said it sounded like a trap but then agreed. So I went to red box got two movies 1.) Scary 2.) not scary. So we put in the scary one and he rolled over and went to sleep. Well I was more than a little irritated....I thought that we were going to watch a movie and hang out together, not I watch the movie while he falls asleep. Unlike a lot of couples we don't have any kids so we get to hang out every night together uninterrupted just the two of us. So I do realize that I hang out with him a lot more than most wives hang out with their hubby's. But still when he said hey lets do something special and then decides that he doesn't like the show I picked out and would rather just go to sleep.....well 1.) It hurt my feelings and 2.) It pissed me off....I feel like that would be like me saying "Hey lets do something fun together like go to the Star Wars museum." and then when we get there say "OK go in I'm gonna take a nap in the car." Geeze rude!!!

$500 Turd
So my sister called me yesterday at 7:00 in the morning. I'm not awake at that time so I pushed silence and went back to sleep. Later I text her to find out what was so important. She called me and told me that my niece Roo had been complaining about her side hurting so she wanted to know if it was a stupid idea to take her into the doctor. (Side note my mother is on a cruise with her sisters so I am now the surrogate mother till she gets back....so far I'm doing a horrible job!) Any way she told me she had taken her into now care and they had her go up and get an ultra sound on her stomach to find out if she had appendicitis. I told her to keep me in contact and let me know what they find out.....Then I sent her a text to kind of ease her mind. The text went like this.....What if you find out that its just a big turd that she needs to let loose? Which she responds to....Hahahah your mean. Then I get a call and she tells me that one of the nurses came in and asked her when the last time Roo had had a bowl movement was. Which I laugh out loud and said "SEE I told you!!! I was right!" Then the nurse came in and she had to go....Later I get a call from her and this is how it went.......I answer the phone and hear................"Well that was a 500 dollar turd!" I guess on the ultra sound they couldn't see anything because her bowels were so full. And they did a test on her white blood count and that was fine. She then told me that she felt really embarrassed that she had gone up there for a turd. To which I told her that there are A LOT of people that have gone in for things that they thought were important only to find out that it was gas or something small like that......and that it was a good thing she went in
because what if it was something blah blah blah.....you know the big sister talk you give to reassure them. I then asked her if she wanted to go to lunch. (after the day she had I figured lunch would be nice) So we met at a Chinese restaurant and she had Roo and Graydon my other sisters kid. Well while we were sitting at lunch Roo asked what is that yellow stuff in the bowl....To which I replied its mustard.....(then here comes the oldest teasing that never really goes away) I looked at Roo and said "Kinda like what you need to do MUST TURD" She didn't think it was as funny as her mother and I.

Puzzled

OK I have yet another question out there for my 2 blogging buddies. I'm not an animal lover and also I don't have kids. But even so I am puzzled as to how this would happen. My sister is married and her father in law is a big animal lover especially dogs. He loves his dogs more than is wife. Now I know that sounds harsh but.....his dog actually bit his wife on the back of the neck once when she was cleaning in a room that her husband was in. I guess she either got to close to her hubby or did something the dog didn't like so it bit her. Now if I was his wife the dog would have been gone after that. But no it was still there living with them and being super over protective of my sisters father-in-law. TILL a few weeks ago the dog bit my nephew on the face. Now thankfully it just left a scratch and a small bruise on his face...and in the dogs defence my nephew is a stick so it could have just been confused with him being one of the sticks in the yard. But after that the dog was put down. So my sisters father-in-law had taken up in his room not speaking to anyone and not coming out of his room because this dog had to be put down. Oh and just so you don't think the dog had only bitten two people and it was off to the pound. The dog had been put into training because of the aggression toward his wife. And also because of aggression towards other animals. But the Father-in-law didn't finish it....said he didn't have the time, but he could go fishing all the time. So any way I just read on my sisters facebook about how they just bought him a brand new puppy?!?!?!?!?!? WTF!!!!! You gave a puppy to the same irresponsible man that raised the last dog???? HELLO PEOPLE!!!! Just because its a puppy doesn't mean that it comes trained? In my opinion I really don't think he should have dogs. He doesn't discipline them and he lets the dogs get to the point where they think THEY are in charge and not the other way around....SO DUMB!!!! But maybe its just me and I'm not a dog lover or a kid lover so in the words of my mother "I will never understand." But back to my question...does this seem odd to you?

Trying to be the bigger person....
I feel like my last few blogs have been real Debbie downers and that all I do is complain. But hey its my blog and my journal so if I write it out then I feel a little bit better. My family is made up of 4 girls (very outspoken girls) And one boy. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I think out of "the sisters" I am the most laid back...it takes me awhile to get mad about stuff but when I do it takes me a long time before I can forgive (not my best quality I know.) I also feel that when I am right that I am right until someone else lets me see it from a different point of view....but I'm stuck trying to let it go, and trying to be the bigger person. And how do you NOT have to be right all the time?

Tacky or Not Tacky??

So along with getting married we get to also go on a super fun VACATION aka HONEYMOON....which I totally need. And while we were searching for that perfect place to go I ran across this website honeyfund.com I really liked it. I think it would be perfect for us since we have been living in sin for the last year. heheheh But I'm torn between if its tacky or not. I know now that things have changed and now its not considered tacky to register for a place. But most of the time its for newly weds that have nothing and need a jump start on stuff for their new pad. And I don't know if its tacky to ask for people to help pay for a honeymoon instead of getting a mixer or something that we already have. Let me know my two blog buddies if you think this is tacky. And don't worry about hurting my feelings cause you know it wont. :)

Friends ?
I have a question for those of you that read my blog (all two of you...lol) If you found out that you had offended a friend of yours. Would you A. Call and talk to them about it? B. Send a text asking why they were upset? or C. Wait till they said something to you and act like everything is fine even though you know its not? And then once everything is out in the open and you know what is wrong, what you did to upset the person, and why they hadn't mentioned the problem sooner do you A. Apologies B. Act like YOU are the one that is now upset because you feel like you have been wronged in some weird way. or C. Send a rude email saying you will apologize when your good and ready to? I know I'm being vague with all of the questions but I do want to know how others handle apologizing. I'm not saying I'm the Queen of it. But if and when I find out that I have offended and it wasn't my intention to do that. I try to take care of it pretty soon. I have found in the last few weeks that some people will surprise you with how fast and sincere they are with their apologies and then how some are shocked and appalled that you would even be upset over something they think is to trivial.....and an apologies is out of the question.

Scars
So today at work I had someone that has been coming into the office for over a year now and just barley noticed the scars on my face....And of coarse he wasn't very tactful about it. He said "OMG what happened to your face." I immediately put my hand to my face thinking I must be oozing blood or something and then realized he was talking about my scars. After that it was awkward to say the least. I'm not mad at him, he didn't know what happened. And yeah he could have been more tact full about it, but hell I know I have said things that I wish that I could crawl under the table after It was said ...But what I wasn't prepared for was how it made me feel after. It has been a really long time since I have thought about my scars that way. I mean I see them every day but I am pleased with the way they look and I am VERY thankful that they are as mild as they are compared to some that I have seen. But still the look on his face when he was looking at me did remind me of the stares right after the accident, the way that my nieces and nephews looked at me like they were scared. Not scared of me but scared for me. I started to cry...And I haven't cried about the scars on my face for a long time....But it really bothered me.
