OK I have yet another question out there for my 2 blogging buddies. I'm not an animal lover and also I don't have kids. But even so I am puzzled as to how this would happen. My sister is married and her father in law is a big animal lover especially dogs. He loves his dogs more than is wife. Now I know that sounds harsh but.....his dog actually bit his wife on the back of the neck once when she was cleaning in a room that her husband was in. I guess she either got to close to her hubby or did something the dog didn't like so it bit her. Now if I was his wife the dog would have been gone after that. But no it was still there living with them and being super over protective of my sisters father-in-law. TILL a few weeks ago the dog bit my nephew on the face. Now thankfully it just left a scratch and a small bruise on his face...and in the dogs defence my nephew is a stick so it could have just been confused with him being one of the sticks in the yard. But after that the dog was put down. So my sisters father-in-law had taken up in his room not speaking to anyone and not coming out of his room because this dog had to be put down. Oh and just so you don't think the dog had only bitten two people and it was off to the pound. The dog had been put into training because of the aggression toward his wife. And also because of aggression towards other animals. But the Father-in-law didn't finish it....said he didn't have the time, but he could go fishing all the time. So any way I just read on my sisters facebook about how they just bought him a brand new puppy?!?!?!?!?!? WTF!!!!! You gave a puppy to the same irresponsible man that raised the last dog???? HELLO PEOPLE!!!! Just because its a puppy doesn't mean that it comes trained? In my opinion I really don't think he should have dogs. He doesn't discipline them and he lets the dogs get to the point where they think THEY are in charge and not the other way around....SO DUMB!!!! But maybe its just me and I'm not a dog lover or a kid lover so in the words of my mother "I will never understand." But back to my question...does this seem odd to you?
Hell yeah it seems odd. That dog would've been taken to the pound after it bit me. Totally would've put it down after biting a kid, too. I say this and I AM a dog lover. So I totally get what you're saying. And about him getting another dog, I don't think people should get animals unless they're going to take care of them responsibly. It ends up being a bad situation for all - dog included. People are crazy. (except for us, of course!)
ReplyDeleteYou can't explain this to a dog lover though. Dog lovers think that because they are dog lovers, they are good dog owners. Which is not necessarily the case. Oh and p.s. I may have killed the dog myself if it bit me. WTF?
